Police in Bournemouth have cautioned a woman who modified a Yachtmaster certificate that she downloaded from Facebook and used it to charter a yacht.

The woman hired a yacht last summer from a charter company, who did not notice that the document was fraudulent.

A spokesperson from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) said that the yacht was returned undamaged, but the certificate she used was later found to be a forgery.

The 29-year-old woman voluntarily attended Bournemouth Police Station on Friday 22 February where she was formally cautioned for using forged material to obtain a boat.

Police decided against prosecuting the woman as she was of previous good character and had paid for the charter of the yacht in full.

Captain Andrew Phillips of the MCA warned seafarers against posting certification on the internet and advised anyone who has uploaded such documents to remove them. Source - Yachting Monthly, 26 February 2008

Alex previously held the record anyway in the old Hugo Boss, what is remarkable with this new record is that the average wind speed was a lot less than the previous record. Well done lads!!For more information about Alex, Capey and the new Hugo Boss Open 60, click here

Here is a video taken from the salvage operation.

“According to what I’ve seen” commented navigator Yves Parlier, “from the video footage shot by journalists flying over Groupama 3 on two occasions today, operations are going well. The mast is in three pieces and this and the forward part of the port float have become separated from the boat.

The guys are busying themselves with the aft section of the float, which is trapped under the central hull.”"It would be hard to imagine better weather conditions, despite a long residual swell, which must be hindering their progress”Parlier concludes: “I don’t have much direct contact with the boat but I imagine they’ve got a lot of other things to do. They’re doing a great job and aren’t taking a minute’s respite as they’re keen to right Groupama 3 before nightfall”.

Frank Cammas and his crew were on the way to setting a new round the world record when the huge tri started to break up just 80 miles from Dunedin and they were airlifted off the overturned trimaran, all safely and uninjured, less that three hours after the capsize.

Rent Back Experts introduces a new way to raise the cash you need yet stay in your home – the Sell and Rent back service.

Who is it for?
Selling your home is easy with the Sell and Rent back service. Anyone who owns their own home, or has a mortgage on it can benefit from this scheme so long as the value of the property is more than the mortgage or loans secured on it.

How does it work?
Sell and Rent back means that you sell your home to Rent Back Experts but you continue to live in it as a tenant. You can stay in your neighbourhood and in the home you love, budget for your rent and other outgoings and, best of all, make use of a potentially large sum of cash.

You will have a tenancy agreement that will allow you to enjoy all the rights that tenants normally have under the law. Everything is explained to you before you go ahead so that you know exactly what will happen.

What are the benefits?
There are lots of benefits to using the Sell and Rent Back service from Rent Back Experts.

Here are just a few:

- The threat of having your home repossessed is lifted.
- You have cash with which you can clear your debts.
- You don’t need to downsize to a smaller home in order to raise money.
- You don’t have to leave neighbours, family or friends in the area.
- Your children are not uprooted and moved to a different school.
- You can use the cash tied up in your home in any way you choose; perhaps as a nest egg or to help boost your retirement income.
- We can also offer you our debt elimination service where our debt specialists can eliminate up to 70% of your unsecured debt. This means more of the money we give you stays in your pocket.

There is more detail on each of these benefits elsewhere on this site. You can also read how Rent Back Expert’s Sell and Rent Back service has dramatically altered people’s lives…for the better!

What’s the first step?

The first step is simple – just contact Rent Back Experts by phone on 08000 255 100 or by email on info@rent-back-experts.com. One of their friendly consultants will talk through the process with you, answer your questions and, if you decide you would like to know more, they will arrange to come and see you. Rest assured that at no stage of the process will you be pushed into doing or signing anything unless you are certain you want to proceed. All Rent Back Expert’s contact is entirely without obligation.

The Barcelona World Race is something I have been watching for the last 95 days. Organised by Ellen MacArthur company OC Events, it has pitted the skills and strengths of 2 crew on IMOCA Open 60 monohulls, racing nonstop around the world, starting and ending in Barcelona.

I have been following the progress of Alex Thomson closely, he and his co-skipper Andrew Cape have had a strange race, firstly breaking the 24 hour speed record, which Alex held before, which now stands at 501nm, this is strange as the average wind strength on this 24 hours compared to the time before was 8-10 knots difference, also this is the first time Alex has been able to finish a Circumnavigation without serious gear failure since he did the Global Challenge race.

Little video of Alex talking about breaking the 24 hour record whilst racing in the Barcelona World Race.
Hugo Boss, the sponsors of the boat, must be extremely happy with this result, it shows Alex is capable of great things (which we all knew anyway), its only a shame that they had to make a pit stop to make repairs. Any pitstop on the race resulted in a minimum 48 hour stay in port. Alex and Capey were only 57 hours behind the winner on Paprec-Virbac 2. I ask what might of happened if they hadn’t stopped?Alex has shown that he will now be threat in the next Vendee Globe at the end of this year, he has a fair few months to fine tune all that he has learnt from this race, which can only make him faster.

Congratulations to Alex and Capey, well done on 501 nm! More Sailing Articles

At the moment one of the best ways to gain back links, search traffic and even visitors is to produce articles. There are many many site out there that provide free article submission services, but why would you do that?

The reason is that the article sites are refresh with content on a regular basis, meaning that robots will happily visit everyday looking for juicy new information to report on, this means that your article will be picked up very quickly, which is great, by why I hear you say.

Generally with article submission you are allowed a add 2 or 3 links in the resource box of your article, these links will be very useful for you. So you have complete control over the content, then have control over where the relevant links link too and get to choose the link text - win win win situation??? well maybe!

I have been using some great article directory software for a few months now, the software is by Article Dashboard, its very easy to use and is ready to go with very little programming. If you want to adjust template and so on it pretty easy, I have some code skills and found it pretty easy.

The site I built is GetMyNameDown.com which is a free article submission service, I have many categories and now have over 250 authors posting over1200 articles. I generally get about 20 articles a day, but have now started to get very strict in what articles I post for people.

I mainly started my article site so that I could use it for SEO during work(I work for a Digital Marketing Agency), having another place to control for links etc, but the site is now getting used more and more by other individuals its madness.

If you want to get a great article site up and running I would defo recommend the Article Dashboard software, all you need is somewhere to host it and you are away.

If you have any articles to submit, please add they to my Article Site
